i believe that every dog has the potential to attack. pit bulls should not be centered out. the way a dog is raised affects the way a dog or any animal or even child for that matter is to react to a situation. there have been dog attacks where the breed is not a pit bull, even little schtzu dogs are capable to harm another innocent being. also has it been considered that the victom whom has been attacked is not totally innocent?

this ban is the stupedist thing i have ever herd of. i had an agressive beagle that we had to put down becuse he attacked me, so why are pit bulls getting all the blame? why ban them, why not have a dangerous dog law instead of banning them. if you want a viscious dog like a staffie, pit or rotwieler you should fallow some rules. just because they ban them dosnt mean there will not be any more being bread. breading is a business and as long as people are getting money for them they wont fix them. its lust like illegal narcotics as long as they are illegal people will keep seaking them out. also who says what is and what isnt a pit bull? i have a staffie lab (who is the biggest suck in the world just ask anyone) that looks more lab then staffie, do i have to fallow the rules too? also what are the rules and how do you find them, cause id like to know.

I walked through a nearby Humane Society a couple of days ago, and it broke my heart to see that every second cage had a pit-bull in it from an 8 week old pup to 6 year old. THESE ARE SUPPSOE TO BE OUR BESTFRIENDS, AND I WAS DISGUSTED TO SEE HOW QUICKLY PEOPLE ARE READY TO GIVE UP ON THEIR COMPANIONS? This makes more sick than any ban, I realize that it is a result of this stupid ban. But I too own a pit-bull, it's been a rough year for us, but i refuse to give up on my dog, my bestfriends. The way I see it, he's like a diamond...one of a kind...no one else could get one anymore..but I have one...and he is the sweetest, most gentle, precious dog I have ever owned. DONT GIVE UP ON YOUR FRIENDS DONT GIVE INTO THE STUPIDITY OF THIS GOVERNMENT!

Should a dog be judged by its nature? Does the society have the right to eliminate a living species? In this case pit bulls. Pit bulls seem to have a reputation of being aggressive and now it has been announced that pit bulls should be banned and I stand up to say that they shouldn’t be banned because firstly people say it is the dog’s fault when instead it is actually the owners fault, secondly, the society shouldn’t judge a dog by it’s nature, it gives them no right to call someone’s pit bull dangerous. Thirdly does it really matter if you banned pit bulls or not. its not fair to pit bulls that they will soon be banned. every pit bull i ever met was very FRIENDLY and showed no signs of aggression. i got a pit and she is the cutest and most sweet pet i own. it is also not fair for the people who cant afford to fix their dogs and register them.....i hate that this law is being passed.

I have a 5 yrs old pitbull, trained to be kind and sweet never barks at anyone and plays with kids, and now he has to put a mozzle and be nutured, just the other day my PITBULL GOT ATTACKED BY ONOTHER DOG...and NO! it wasnt a pitbull. and this isnt the first time and its the same dog! cause he had is MOZZLE on he couldnt fight back,( the owner was nowhere in site and lives in my building!) Alexis, that makes my blood boil. As useless as it might be, I hope you reported that to the local humane society. That owner should be punished for having his/her dog running around especially since it has already shown to be aggressive towards other dogs. Thanks to the new legislation, he can be fined up to $10,000. Plus, (now I'm not completely sure of this) you should be able to sue for the cost of the vetbill (but maybe that's just if it happened on your property).

Three members of my family own pits -- every one of them is totally trustworthy -- which is more than I can say about some people. If they get rid of pit bulls - what breed will they go after next -- because people who want vicious dogs will make whatever dog they have, vicious.

I do disagree with the pitbull ban.I live in IA where pits are banned also. I had a pit that was less than a year old and the animal shelter told me I had to put it down.I didn't so they came and comfescated her. I did some resourse/ researching and I came out to find that There are a lot of other breeds that are banned also its not just pits, some of the other breeds are wolf hybrids,siberian huskies, alaskan malamutes,bull mastiff's,(most with a head structure like a pit)exept american bulldog.BUT the only breed bans they really enforse are pitbulls.

This ban is wrong in every way! just goes to show what happens when uninformed, small minded people gain power. i have owned many pit bull terriers and my current pit is the best dog not only i have ever owned, but that i have ever seen. both with people, including my three children, and dogs. he has been attacked multiple times, usually by other breeds, but has never instigated a fight, though he will finish one. raised with love and patience but a firm hand, i challenge anyone to find a better breed. please dont let the few bad apples ruin your societies ability to own these wonderful animals. fight back, even if its by owning them yourselves, they cant take them away from everyone, and the more that have them and raise them resposibly, the more likely those that make these idiotic bans will be forced to see the breed for what it truley is.
